Having grown up with dogs, it was
natural for me to have the need of a four legged friend. I wanted my kids to
grow up with these ever loving creatures in their lives. I feel they make
our world complete, never judging & turning away from an out-stretched hand.
Now my grandkids will be able to enjoy them too.
Although cockers were not our first,
we had shelties for a number of years, they are our mainstay. Boxers add
zest and protection to the two-legged occupants of our home as well as the
four. We will have a third (& only) breed, she arrives On Sunday Apr. 7,
2002. Call me crazy, but I couldn't resist, a
pointer
will be joining the troops -
Layne.
To date I have bred 17 Canadian
Champion (cockers) & 2 Canadian Champion (boxers), all owner handled to
title. These along with 3 others, also owner handled, purchased from other breeders,
have kept me on the go. I have been infected with the show bug, and
sometimes go just for the fun of it.
Our breeding program is select, we
only use healthy, sound specimens of the breed. We eye test cockers annually,
boxer hearts are tested at the age of 1 yr & again at 2 yrs. Hips are done on
both at the age of 2 yrs. Quality is our goal not quantity.
Last year we decided to change our
feeding process. We visited with some people who were using the Raw program.
Norm & Janice Starr have been ever helpful in keeping my canine crew
supplied with healthy meals. Along with some supplements in the form of
vitamins, herbs & fresh water my dogs are the healthiest I've ever seen them.
